  • The Forest of Wisdom

    The Forest of Wisdom, located on the first floor of the Asia Publication Culture and Information Center, is a public library where valuable books are gathered, preserved, protected, managed, and available to be read together. Sector 1 is where visitors can look at the books donors have read and studied throughout their lives. As a shared library, it contains books from various eras and covers fields such as: humanities, literature, history, philosophy, and art. Sector 2 consists of books donated by the publishing houses located in Paju Book City. It is a space where you can read books and explore the history of Korean book publishing and publishers. It also has a children’s reading space. Sector 3 is the lobby of Jijihyang, the guesthouse, here visitors can see books donated by publishing houses, as well as distributors, museums and art galleries.

  • The Annex of Kim Myeong Gwan Old Manor

    This is an annex of Kim Myeong Gwan's old manor, which was moved from Jeongeup, Jeolla-do, and is a guardian and a spiritual symbol of Paju Book City that bore witness to its the birth and growth. Allowing the visitors to take in both this Hanok and the Asia Publication Culture and Information Center at a glance, encapsulates the meaning of ‘inheriting the old while cultivating the future’ - that is, working towards the creation of a cultural city where tradition and modernity coexist.

  • The Book City Letterpress Museum

    The Book City Letterpress Museum believes that reviving letterpress printing, by reintroducing movable type, is the way to develop and expand the power of that creative spirit we need to nurture and protect. This museum is a living school for experiencing with your body what people should read, remember and dwell on. Here, rather than simply looking around, you can become friends with books by making own paper, selecting your own manuscript and making your own book.

  • Kim So Wol (Sieui Dari/ The Bridge of Poetry)

    This bridge commemorates the literary achievements of the poet Kim Sowol. Installations in the shape of azalea flowers and nighttime illuminations deepen the romantic atmosphere in Paju Book City. The bridge allows easy travel from the Asia Publication Culture Information Center to Bookstore Street making it much loved and well trodden as a great route for a stroll.

  • Character House

    Here you can rent the costumes of characters in books published by the publishing houses located in Paju Book City as well as popular characters and characters from fairy tales that have been loved for time immemorial. You can also enjoy the 3D-Pen Sketch for a variety of funny characters. A tour pass is issued to anyone who visits the Character House, allowing them to enjoy exclusive benefits offered by a variety of cultural spaces and amenities.

  • Bomulseom / Treasure Island (Secondhand bookstore of The Beautiful Store)

    Located on the second floor of the Asia Publication Culture Information Center, this is a secondhand bookstore sharing precious books replete with memories and stories. The bookstore is run by the Beautiful Store which serves as a steppingstone to neighborhood love.

    This is a bookstore brand of the ‘Booksori’, a social cooperative created with the participation of 47 domestic publishing houses. Under its ‘One City, One Booksori’ project, the cooperative has expanded and collaborates with local bookstores to introduce quality books to readers. Starting from the first store in Paju, the group plans to expand nationwide.

  • The Publishing Industry Experience Center

    The Publishing Industry Experience Center allows you to see the process of book distribution at a glance by covering everything from the history and planning of books to the writing processes of authors, editing, printing, etc. We provide introductions to roles within publishing to visitors and operate targeted experience programs for particular groups. The place is divided into two sections: A 'Book History' section where you can look at the birth and invention of letters and paper and the development of printing technology; and the ‘How a book is made’ section that covers the entire printing industry from planning, printing to distribution.
    You can enjoy a variety of related experiences such as the Kiosk experience for each space, typographic puzzles, ancient civilization characters stamp experience, book cover photo zones, etc.
